Marianne's Story
Life
You knew me as Marianne Blair. A few years ago I decided to clean out my closet and went back to my maiden name and am once again Mariane Blair.
After I graduated in 62, I went to USL for 2 years. Just long enough to get enough business education to get a job. In 65, I married an Oil man from Texas, worked til our first child of 4 was born, then became a housewife. Due to his job,we moved EVERYWHERE. It was fun til it ended around 1990. I married again in 93 but that only lasted 5 years. He was a farm boy and it was fun living "down on the farm", but that is over. I became a Registered Nurse late in life and since December,1990, had been working at the VA hospital in Jackson, MS. I love my job and I feel like I am truly doing God's work, helping his children. (Although, every now and then I had to remind myself that some of the veterans are God's children) I have 8 beautiful grandchildren and should have 9 by my birthday in May..I have recently bought a fixer upper and moved to Madison,MS to be closer to my kids as I age. I have 4 great kids. My first born son teaches advanced computer languages at a junior college near Madison,Mississippi. My first daughter lives in Missoula,Montana with her family and is currently enjoying life completing her college education and plans to be a teacher. God has planted my third born child in Seattle, Washington, where he is working at Nintendo, travels around the country teaching people how to use the wii and setting...Expand for more
up for shows. My baby daughter has recently married and moved back to the Madison,MS area, where she is working as bookkeeper for her father. I loved my job, love my life, have probably never been happier. I retired a year or so ago. I feel better and younger than I did in 62, but have a few (well, many) grey hair and have added a few (well, many) pounds. But life gets to be more fun the older I get! In High school, I loved hanging with my friends, Doris, Mary Lou, & others watching the boys, just driving around, going to Duck's drive in & going to dances at the teen center on Fridays. I don't remember any teachers from high school. My favorite teacher was my 7th and 8th grade teacher, Mr.Marcotte. I will never forget him. I think we were all in love with him. My mom has died a couple of years ago., leaving me no ties to cajun country. Dad died a couple of years before Mom went. I miss sugar cane festivals. "Moon River" & "Yellow Roses" always takes me back down memory lane. Oh yes, in 2002, I became a vegan vegetarian, quite a change from crawfish! . I had a cancer scare in 2005 and since then have been traveling the world. and a few local road trips. (email me at marianneblair at g mail (no spam) dott (no spam) com.
